Extruded heatsinks

Folded thin fins on a base plate, for a large cooling surface at low weight.
Fins skived from a single piece of base material, with no bonding layer between fin and base.
Machined from solid aluminium or copper, for complex shapes, prototypes and smaller batches.
Liquid-cooled plates for heat loads that air cooling cannot dissipate.
Thermal pads and other interface materials for good heat transfer between component and heatsink.
Aluminium is light, easy to extrude and machine, and sufficient for many applications. Copper conducts heat considerably better and is used where the heat load is high or space is limited.
The choice of cooling technique depends on heat load, available space, airflow, weight and quantities. We assess these factors with you and propose the appropriate design.
A heatsink only performs well when mounting, flatness of the contact face and the thermal interface are right. Exten therefore delivers heatsinks complete: machined, fitted with inserts or fasteners, with the thermal pad in the correct position and ready for mounting.
