Exten B.V. | From design to reliable series production

Exten B.V. · Eindhoven · Brainport

From design to reliable series production.

Exten is your technical and commercial partner for the engineering and supply of mechanical prototypes and components. Production-independent, from prototype to series production.

Send us your CAD model or drawing. We assess manufacturability, select the most suitable manufacturing process and organise production, quality and delivery. One point of contact, backed by a network of specialised production partners. Particularly strong in small series.

What Exten does

Your partner in turning an idea into a manufacturable product.

Instead of finding and managing several manufacturers yourself, you send Exten your drawing or CAD model. We review the design, select the most suitable manufacturing process based on geometry, quantities, material, tolerances and lead time, and remain responsible for the complete delivery.

01

Production-independent

Exten selects the manufacturing process that best fits your product, rather than pushing you towards one manufacturing technology.

02

From prototype to series

One technical partner supporting your product from the first prototype through repeat series production.

03

Technical ownership

We support manufacturability, materials, tolerances, production decisions and the coordination of production partners.

04

Supply-chain management

Quality control, transport, stock and scheduled or JIT deliveries, coordinated through one partner.

Our strength

Strong in small series

Small series are where Exten is strongest: quantities too large for one-off prototypes and too small for a factory set up for mass production. For each series we choose the technique that fits the quantity, so you do not invest in tooling unnecessarily.

What sets us apart

All production techniques under one roof

No need to go to several local companies that each have one specialism. At Exten you find all production techniques together: 3D printing, CNC machining, injection moulding, casting, extrusion, sheet metal, finishing and assembly.

Rapid prototyping

Often within around 14 days

For rapid prototyping we can often achieve a lead time of around 14 days, excluding shipping. The exact lead time depends on process, material and quantities and is always stated in the quotation.

Two pillars, one accountable partner

Prototyping

Test the product, not just the shape. Exten produces functional prototypes, often in the intended production material and with the required finish. That lets you validate fit, function and assembly before investing in tooling.

Series production

Supply of mechanical components in plastics, aluminium and other technical materials. Exten selects and manages specialised production partners and remains responsible for quality, repeatability and delivery.

From prototype to series

One continuous route, no handovers between suppliers

At Exten, the prototype is not an endpoint but a step. The same partner that builds your prototype then organises process selection, tooling and repeat series.

Manufacturing processes

For every project we select the process that fits the geometry, quantities, material and tolerances. A selection of frequently used routes:

Plastic injection moulding

Repeatable plastic series from hundreds to many thousands of parts, including tooling coordination.

CNC machining

Prototypes and low-volume series in plastics, aluminium and metals, in the intended production material.

About CNC machining →

Engineering plastics machining

Machining of technical plastics such as POM, PMMA and PP from sheet and block material.

Engineering & DFM

A good CAD design is not automatically an efficient production design.

Before production we review material choice, wall thicknesses, tolerances, draft angles, fastening methods and the consequences for tooling and cost. Where the design can be made better or cheaper to produce, we propose it.

We do not only ask: “Can this be manufactured?” but also: “What is the most sensible way to manufacture it?”
